After a successful outing racing under the lights at Daytona, driving the #07 DIRECTV/MarineMax Crawford Daytona Prototype for Spirit of Daytona, Guy Cosmo's New England Grand Prix at Lime Rock park, in the #8 B-K Motorsports Road & Track / Kumho Tire Mazda Courage LMP2 prototype ended in disappointment.

After completing his race at Daytona on Thursday evening, Guy Cosmo made the trek up to Lime Rock Park in Connecticut, for the American Le Mans Series New England Grand Prix. Upon arriving at the track Friday, Cosmo had a good practice session in the afternoon before his teammate Jamie Bach qualified the car.

"Coming back to Lime Rock made it very noticeable how much progress we've made with this car since last year," noted Cosmo. "Jamie and I were really looking forward to a strong showing as the gap between our competition has really narrowed. Unfortunately Jamie got caught out by some debris on track and had a terrible crash in the Downhill, and was then hit by one of the Ferraris. We're trying to determine exactly what happened. I trust our crew chief and the B-K Motorsport team will get it figured out."

Bach had started the race while Guy stood ready to drive the second stint and bring the car home. He never got that chance.

"It's like I was all dressed up with no place to go," laughed an upbeat Cosmo. "But that's racing and these things happen. I'm just glad Jamie wasn't hurt. Our first concern was his well being. The car can always be fixed."

The crew is assessing what needs to be done to the car to have it ready for the American Le Mans Series race coming up next week at the all new Miller Motorsports Park in Salt Lake City, Utah.

"I'm really anxious to get on the new Salt Lake facility," added Cosmo. "It looks like they've done a tremendous job and the long smooth course will be a welcome change-up after the tight rough circuit at Lime Rock. I'm looking forward to it."

The American Le Mans Series Grand Prix of Utah, is set for 6 p.m. MDT on July 15 at the new Miller Motorsports Park in Salt Lake City. CBS will broadcast the race from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT on July 16.
