Mansfield, Ohio - Guy Cosmo, driver of the Road & Track, Kumho Tire, B-K Motorsports Mazda LMP2 car will compete in his fourth event in 13 days when he climbs in the cockpit for Thursday's American Le Mans Series practice at Mid-Ohio. Cosmo began his excursion May 5th at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca sitting in for the injured Memo Gidley. Wednesday the 9th he joined the B-K Motorsports team for the American Le Mans Series inaugural running of the Lone Star Grand Prix of Houston, then continued on to Phoenix to sit in for Gidley again at GAINSCO Grand Prix under the lights at Phoenix International Raceway.

"I'm looking forward to reuniting with B-K Motorsports behind the wheel of our Road & Track, Kumho Tire, Mazda LMP2 car," said Guy Cosmo, "The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind tour and it will be good to come back to Mid-Ohio. I'm excited about working with the team and our new partner, Road & Track, and getting more time with the Kumho tires."

Cosmo discussed the track changes at Mid-Ohio.

"I have so many great memories of this track and it's always been one of my favorites," Cosmo remarked. "But, change is inevitable, and while I know it will feel uncomfortable at first, I'm sure it's all for the good. They've certainly gone to great lengths and the place looks fantastic. It'll take a little while to get a feel for the surface and get used to the new curbs, but I'm sure the racing will be great. After all, it's the same for everyone and I'm sure we'll feel right at home in short order."

"I'm glad we'll have this opportunity to really get a feel for our new Kumho tires," added Cosmo. "Houston wasn't really the type of track you'd typically work out a new tire program on. Here, we'll have more track time and a consistent surface. I will say this about the Kumho tires we ran in Houston, I ran quite a long stint and the tires produced fast, consistent times from start to finish. It was quite impressive."

Cosmo and co-driver, Jamie Bach, finished second in the LMP2 class at Houston.

"Of course, the big question this weekend will be the weather," observed Cosmo. "It's been extremely wet here and chances are we could be racing in the rain. With the track surface being brand new, it could be very unpredictable when wet. I'm sure we'll get some wet weather practice, but the weather could become the great equalizer in Sunday's race."

The American Le Mans at Mid-Ohio, the third round of the 2006 American Le Mans Series, is set for noon EDT on Sunday at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. It will be broadcast on CBS Sports at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday, the second of five straight races on the network. Qualifying is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. EDT on Saturday.
